Today we practiced conic sections in everyday life using word problems. Happy Valentine's Day!
Today we worked on our conic project in which we are creating pictures on Desmos.com using the conic sections that we have learned. This is due by Friday!
If you were using students.desmos.com, the class codes are as follows: First Block: 4GRHT Second Block: J7CKA Third Block: 5UZ8U Today we took our quiz over conic sections and looked at hyperbolas. Monday we will be working on a project!
Today was strictly a work session on graphing ellipses and writing their equations in standard form. The worksheets from today and yesterday are due tomorrow!
Today we discovered how to graph ellipses given their standard equations. We will have a quiz on Friday! Test next Thursday!
Tuesday we practiced graphing parabolas using their properties as well as viewed an ellipse.
On Monday we practiced graphing parabolas using the properties of their equations.
We took our remediation quiz today as well as practiced completing the square to write the transformational form of parabolas. Remember that grade recovery will be after school this Monday! Attached is a helpful website for organizing the forms of the conic sections:
www.shelovesmath.com/precal/parametrics-and-conics/ Today we practiced converting circles to standard form by completing the square. We also were introduced to parabolas. The remediation quiz is tomorrow along with the project and a warm-up check.
