Today we practiced using our trig functions to find the missing side of a triangle. We did our classwork a little differently today; students partnered up and tag-teamed problems at the board. It was a good day for sine, cosine, and tangent:)

Today we took a quiz over the Midsegment, Proportionality, and Similarity as well as began trig ratios. Soh-Cah-Toa!
Classwork p. 30-31 Homework p. 32-34 Today we proved triangles similar using our basis from proving them congruent. We also reviewed for our quiz tomorrow; attached is the answer key. Please review it as you study!
Review p. 11-12 and 21-22 Classwork p. 23-26 Homework p. 27-29 Today we continued solving for sides of similar triangles by applying the Midsegment Theorem. When setting up your ratios, remember...
... STAY ORGANIZED! Classwork p. 16-18 Homework p. 19-20 Helpful videos on Midsegment and Proportionality: www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6BrUc3z3CU virtualnerd.com/geometry/similarity/parallel-lines-proportional-parts/practice-triangle-proportionality-theorem Today we explored what it means for figures to be similar. IT'S ALL ABOUT YOUR ORGANIZATION!!! Make sure you look at your units when comparing ratios of perimeter, area, and volume! Above all else, stay organized:)
Classwork p. 5-8 Homework p. 9-10 Helpful site for setting up problems: www.purplemath.com/modules/ratio6.htm *Extra Credit* On a slip of paper, turn in your answer to me as you walk into class Monday, January 27.
1st Block: Find the coordinates of the image after a dilation of k = 4. A(2, 1) B(-4, 3) C(0, 5) 3rd Block: Find the coordinates of the image after a dilation of k = 1/2. A(12, -1) B(-4,-3) C(0, 5) 4th Block: Find the coordinates of the image after a dilation of k = 2. A(0, 11) B(-4, 23) C(5, -3) Today we discussed our unit 1 test results as well as began our next unit on Similarity and Trigonometry! Please complete pages 3-4 of the packet by Monday. Today we took our quiz over congruent triangles as well as reviewed for the Unit 1 Test tomorrow. On #6, x should be equal to 109.
The extended late deadline for DeltaMath is due tomorrow by 8:00 AM! Today we completed our lesson on writing triangle proofs. Remember, it's just the vocab with "theorem" or "postulate" attached at the end:)
I have decided to extend the late window for DeltaMath to Thursday, the day of our test. Please complete the assignment so your grade will not suffer! Today we determined if triangles were congruent by developing the congruence postulates SSS, SAS, ASA, AAS, and HL (for right triangles). Part of the lesson today will prepare students for naming triangles based on their corresponding angles and sides. We were able to finish our work in class today, so if you have completed your Pre-Course Packet and DeltaMath assignment, you have no homework! :)
Today we took our quiz over transformations and explored the Triangle Inequality Theorem. "Which side lengths are able to create a triangle?" DeltaMath and the Pre-Course Packet are due tomorrow!
